4. Ukimido Gazebo

This picturesque floating temple is set on a small island in the middle of a pond and is a popular spot for photography.

The Ukimido Gazebo is a six-sided structure with a cypress thatched roof, situated on the edge of Sagi-ike Pond within Nara Park. The original gazebo was built during the Nara Period (710-794) and was used for religious ceremonies and as a place for aristocrats to enjoy the scenery. The previous Ukimido Gazebo had deteriorated due to its age, but a new and improved version was reconstructed in 1994, restoring its former splendor.

You can find the gazebo just beyond Asajigahara, in close proximity to the Kasugataisha Shrine. In addition, visitors can also rent a boat and take a relaxing ride on the pond, enjoying the views of the gazebo and the surrounding nature from a different perspective.

5. Nara Park
