Welcome to the enchanting world of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter. This walkthrough-style entertainment facility transports you behind the scenes of the globally beloved Harry Potter film series. Opened on June 16, 2023, the Studio Tour is nestled on the site of the former Toshimaen amusement park, a convenient 20-minute train ride from the bustling hubs of Ikebukuro and Shinjuku in central Tokyo.
A Unique Experience
Unlike a typical theme park, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo does not feature rides. Instead, it offers a unique opportunity to explore the magical world of Harry Potter on foot, traversing iconic film sets. To enhance the self-guided experience, digital guides are available, providing narrations in both Japanese and English for an additional fee.
Iconic Sets and Attractions
The heart of the Studio Tour lies in its iconic sets, meticulously designed to recreate the magic and atmosphere of the Harry Potter movies. Each set offers a wealth of photo opportunities and interactive activities, such as green screen experiences that allow you to ride a broomstick, become a Hogwarts portrait, or step into the crowd of a Quidditch match. Note that selected activities and experiences may require an additional fee.
The Great Hall
The Great Hall, the central gathering place in Hogwarts, is possibly one of the most recognized sets in the film series. As you step through the grand doors, you can discover the intricate details of this opulent hall, which served as the backdrop for many iconic scenes.
Platform 9 3/4
Platform 9 3/4, the iconic train platform from where students board the Hogwarts Express train to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, is recreated in all its glory. The set provides plenty of photo opportunities with the platform and the locomotive.
Diagon Alley
Diagon Alley, the main shopping street where Hogwarts students purchased their school supplies, is brought to life in the Studio Tour. The shop windows display intricate and elaborate artworks, which visitors can inspect at a close range.
Forbidden Forest
Also known as the Dark Forest, this set allows visitors to explore the forest and its animals and magical creatures. The deeper you venture in, the more forbidding the forest becomes, allowing you to experience some scenes as they happened in the movies.
Ministry of Magic
Exclusive to Tokyo, the full-size Ministry of Magic set recreates the Atrium, the entry and exit points of the Ministry Headquarters. Large fireplaces in the set allow visitors to experience traveling to the Ministry like an employee.
Dining and Shopping
The Studio Tour hosts a number of food and drink establishments, offering a varied menu, including Butterbeer, the popular wizarding drink. Additionally, there are two shops where visitors can purchase Wizarding World products. Please note that the shops can only be accessed by those with valid tickets.
